When Does It Make Sense To Shave The Dome?

One of the themes of this site that we make a point to emphasize is how often styles, trends, fashion, and what is considered acceptable, changes. Not too long ago the amount of hair you had on your head was correlated to your virility and men would rather have what more resembled a dead animal on their head than a full head of hair, and it was better to go fake than go bald. Obviously times have changed and it is not only acceptable but hip to do so, however it doesn’t come without some caveats, knowing when to shave your head is important, but the time is right to consider the option. Here is some Q & A on weather or not you should go clean and when to do so.

When Becks went putting green, it started the shaven chic trend

Of course, there are practical reasons for going slick. If nature has already done half the work for you, and your other option is to start doing come-overs, then finishing the job and shaving the rest can actually give you a much younger look. Also, if you’re very active, a bald head can be easy to maintain. I shave my head once every few years just for a change and because it’s much easier for me to deal with in the hot summer months. Once again, before you go bald by choice, there are a few things to consider.

Of course, a shaved dome is not for everyone and you can never be completely sure of how it will look until you do it. There are some computer programs that might give you a general idea, but it may scare you off as well. That said, if shaving your head ends up being a mistake, it may take some time, but your hair will always grow back and perhaps it will be a good opportunity for you to explore different options for stylish head wear.
